In class the teacher asked us to find out what forces make buildings shake. Depending on the building it will shake differently if it is long and flexible it will bend if it is short and stiff it will move to the side. An example of this was the Mexico earthquake almost all the tall buildings collapsed leaving the small ones only bent.
